Not making ice, and water leaking in freezer?

This problem is related to faulty ice maker.The water gets collected in the ice maker, then ice gets formed in the ice maker tray.But if ice maker is cracked or broken, then it will leak the water out so the ice will not get formed.
In some cases the frozen ice gets collected in ice maker chamber or in the side of bottom freer, due to this.But the problem is same.Faulty ice maker.

If you notice water leakage even after replacing ice maker, then replacing water inlet valve with ice maker is also advisable.The water inlet valve is located at the lower back bottom of the refrigerator.

Replacing ice maker assembly on most of the refrigerator is not very difficult and procedure is near to same.But not exactly same.On some models there is clips holding the parts and on some models there are screws holding parts.Many a times screws are hidden and difficult to see.

Amana Refrigerator leaking water from ice maker?

This problem is not very common in Amana refrigerators.But noticed in some cases.When refrigerator gets old, this problem is noticed.In most of the cases the ice maker has to be replaced for permanent solution.

One of the user who replaced ice maker assembly on his Amana refrigerator has mentioned the procedure to replace ice-maker,Go through this procedure :---


On Amana refrigerator the ice maker was mounted in such a way that disconnecting the power connector was difficult. The ice maker had to be completely dismounted before any access to the power connector was even possible. The short power cables made it very difficult to get the ice maker into a position where I had a good view of the power connector enabling me to see how to release it. The only other challenge was the cup that the water line goes into. The replacement ice maker did not come with the right cup - the instructions said to replace the provided one with the old one. No instructions for this procedure were provided and it looked to me like it might involve significant disassembly, something I wanted to avoid for fear of breaking a plastic part on the new ice maker (something I had already done when disassembling the old ice maker). So instead of replacing the cup, I modified the new one to match the old one. This involved removing a cutout on one side and covering a hole on the other. Installation of the new ice maker went fine and the water leak problem was fixed.This procedure will help, you when you will replace ice maker Assembly on your refrigerator.Be care full you don't break any wire connector while removing old ice maker.Because the wires are bit short in Amana refrigerators,then other model refrigerators.The wire getting pulled out problem is very much noticed on Amana refrigerators.

Leaking ice maker is indication of faulty ice maker assembly.

The ice maker is easy to replace.First unplug the icemakers wire harness from the refrigerator and then remove three screws. Installing is the reverse of the procedure. Just line up the single screw of the bracket and the track, re-install the three screws and then plug the icemaker back in. Takes less than 15 minutes. After the icemaker got to the right temperature (about an hour) it was making ice again.

In this process ,I removed the auger, cap, and crusher assembly from the ice bin, by removing the top 2 screws with a small nut driver. Put these parts on the new ice bin and tightened the 2 screws/nuts at the top of the bin and slid the ice bucket back into place. Take care nothing get lost and you don't forget to refit any part.

If not then re seat the assembly and check.

First  remove the Ice bin. Then loosen the ice bin rail under the ice maker and remove the screw attached to the bottom of the ice maker to the side of the fridge. I unplugged the power to Ice Maker from the back of the fridge and unscreewed the two screws that secured the ice maker to the fridge. This allowed the Ice Maker to be removed from the fridge. To replace the new ice maker I simply repeated the steps in reverse.Be careful that you place the ice maker assembly in proper position and not in tilted or wrong position.Do it gently,slowly and carefully.
