Battery and brake Warning lights on Dash

Warning Lights flashing on dash.

Warning lights flash on dash,to indicate you there is some sort of problem.

Its very easy to understand what problem is there by dash lights.
Engine light blinks when problem with engine or its related components.Oil light blinks when oil is low or its sensor is dirty and needs cleaning.
Coolant light blinks when coolant is low and engine overheats due to low coolant or its a faulty Engine coolant sensor.

So as per these warning lights the brake and battery warning lights,When these dash lights are lit, this is a common sign of a fault in the Charging System.
 Most commonly, a failing Alternator.
There is a quick easy test for this, with the use of a voltage meter. Testing is helpful and advisable because makes you confirmation before replacing the part.
Try these tests :----
With the engine running, take a voltage reading at the battery terminals. If the voltage is not between 13v-14v, or fluctuates in and out of this area, the Alternator will need to be replaced.
If the Alternator passes this test, turn the engine off and wait 15min. Take another reading at the battery terminals, this time with the engine off. If the voltage is anything less than 12v, the battery may have a "bad cell" and is not accepting the alternator's charge. If you do not have access to a voltage meter, most local "big chain" parts stores, like AutoZone, will run these tests for Free at there service centers.

Once the fault is confirmed,always go for branded parts instead of local aftermarket parts.These after market parts are lot cheaper as compared to branded parts,but there performance also differ as compared to branded parts.
